Bark in the Park

The 2nd annual Bark in the Park event is just around the corner! Join us Saturday, March 2nd, 2013 at Woodlawn Lake Park from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. for food, fun and furry friends! Last year we had over 30 participating organizations and organized 275 vaccinations, 27 spay/neuter surgeries, and 35 pet adoptions! This year’s goal is to double the capacity of our event!

In 2006 the city of San Antonio committed to becoming a no-kill community for our animals. This means that no cat or dog in any shelter should be “put down” or euthanized due to lack of space for them, that’s where “Talk about It SA” comes into play; we’re here to provide an interactive platform for the community to come together and achieve this worthy goal by promoting Care. Adopt. Neuter. Since 2007, the San Antonio Area Foundation has collaborated with local animal welfare organizations to become a no-kill city.

By coming to Bark in the Park, you’re supporting San Antonio and helping us all get on the road to becoming a no-kill city- all while having a really great time! There will be an opening ceremony with Councilman Cris Medina and a musical performance by the ever popular Krayolas band. But there’s fun for your pet, too- like a Best Dressed Pet contest, a Mutt-Strutt contest and a Look-a-like Pet contest! (Don’t forget to register online at the Talk About It SA.org website!) With food trucks, live music, a pet photo booth, and a children’s activity area, you’ll have a guaranteed great day! It’s free admission, so bring the whole family!

For more information or to volunteer to help, visit our Talk about It SA website at www.TalkAboutItSA.org. Parking will be limited so wear your walking shoes or plan to arrive early. Booths don't open until 10 a.m. so feel free to enjoy a walk around the park before then. We can’t wait to see you, bring your pets and come on down and see us at Woodlawn Lake Park on March 2nd, meet us with your furry friend and a happy smile!

Unleash your inner puppy San Antonio!
